The Nissan GT-R is Ready for the Market

At the recent 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan Motor Co Ltd announced that it will launch the new Nissan GT-R in the Japanese market this coming December. Unfortunately, the Japanese automaker did not announce if it will also roll out the GT-R in other markets including here in the United States.
As Nissan s super car model, the GT-R features a new vehicle platform with independent transaxle 4WD system. The new Nissan GT-R comes with a monstrous new 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 "VR38" engine under its hood. This power unit can pump out 480 PS (353 kW) revving at 6400 rpm and pulls out a maximum torque output 588 Nm from 3200 to 5200 rpm. The new 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 engine also features plasma-sprayed bores and secondary air management system. A GR6-type dual clutch transmission with paddle shifting and a Borg Warner six-plate dual clutch completes the powertrain package for the Nissan GT-R. With the optimum air-fuel ratio and special twin-turbo exhaust manifold system, the Nissan GT-R receives the ultra-low emission vehicle (U-LEV) certification in Japan.
On the chassis and suspension parts, the Nissan GT-R comes with a special Bilstein DampTronic system. This quality suspension is complemented by large Brembo full-floating drilled rotors, low steel high stiffness brake pads and Brembo mono block six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.
The Nissan GT-R s exterior styling features functional design as well as high performance aerodynamic components. The super car s body structure is made of steel, carbon fiber and aluminum. Other exterior features include front fenders with "aero-blades", large hood budge and single air intake, new "super wide beam" headlights, four-ring taillights, efficient rear spoiler, and large integrated phi 120 exhaust tips. The Nissan GT-R comes in with new Ultimate Silver special exterior color.
Moving inside, the Nissan GT-R features aesthetically designed and functional interior, that Nissan defined as "Interior suitable for daily driving or supercar duties." Some interior highlights of the Nissan GT-R include three-dimensional metal-like ring, large metallic-framed center console, ergonomically designed shift lever, high-speed, high-capacity CARWINGS navigation system, Music Box hard drive, DVD and CD player, and Bluetooth(R) audio function. For audiophiles, Nissan also offers the specially designed BOSE sound system, which includes woofers in the rear center armrest and traditional door speakers.
Finally, Nissan won t compromise the safety of its customers as well as the pedestrians. Nissan offers a wide range of active and passive safety components for the GT-R including pop-up engine hood, ,driver and front passenger SRS Air Bag System, front seat belts with tension reducer, front seat belts with load limiter, three-point rear seat belts, .driver and front passenger SRS Side Air Bag System, and SRS Curtain Air Bag System. Customers can also get car cover for this model to preserve its sleek appearance.
